Being an avid fan of Spybot ever since it came out I have seen how advanced Adware and Spyware has become. That is why I am becoming partial to other Spyware solutions such as MalwareBytes. It has impressed me lately and it seems to be a good pick for freeware solution.
Still Mcaffee SiteAdvisor, Spybot Tea Timer and SpywareBlaster seem to be the best defense against Spyware and other malicious software that I have found over the years. Assuming you have good browsing habits of course too.

Hit "Submit Comment" too soon.

One thing I am impressed with in Vista is the built in Windows Defender. It's resident scanner does seem to protect decently against most spyware. My only gripe is that its manual scans don't seem to be as fruitful as SpyBot.

SpyBot is a classic. Works every time. Or someone could just use a *nix or BSD OS. ;)
